All the resources YOU need to survive DP.

Updated: May 19, 2021

Happy New Year everyone! And with the new year comes a new term of school *shudders*. I don't think I'm mentally prepared to go back to that hell just yet. Anyways, with the start of the new term, I thought it would be best to give you guys some resources that might just help make this term go a bit easier.

PAST PAPERS

The following two links have all the IB DP past papers you would ever need. And on literally every subject there is! The second link has the most current papers (including May 2018!).

ENGLISH

1. Grammarly - Grammar Check

Not too good with writing? Need a second review for you work? Then Grammarly is a pretty cool app you should check out. You can upload documents, set your specifications, and let the AI do its job.

2. Literary Devices

Literary devices are something you need to know, whether you're in the MYP or the DP. Here's a nice little website if you don't think MYP English is good enough (it's actually pretty cool and has so much on analysis, check it out here).

3. Spark Notes

Haven't done your English reading? Well, don't worry. Spark Notes is here to save the day. One of the best places to get summaries on any book, as well as detailed analysis of characters, symbolism, plot, and more!

4. LitCharts

Made by the creators of Spark Notes, LitCharts goes that extra mile. If you want a 7 in English, you should definitely be using LitCharts. If the average student uses SparkNotes because they forgot to do their English Reading, the good student uses LitCharts becuase it has EVERY SINGLE DETAIL. I'm not kidding - this website is so underrated. And it's totally free to use.

FRENCH

1. Duolingo

An app for your phone, and a website for your laptop! Duolingo is the best place you could possibly go to for practicing French. I mean it. What my French teacher could not teach me in 4 years in the MYP, Duolingo did in 3 months (I managed to get my grade up from a 4 to a 6). Check it out. I do not joke about this one. Duolingo is essential for them French students out there.

2. Podcast Francais Facile - Listening Audio

If you're weak in French listening, or need that extra practice before a listening exam for French, you better use this website. It has different levels, and all sorts of audios (with script) and exercises you can use to practice with.

3. InnerFrench Another really cool resource I randomly found browsing Youtube was this channel. One of the biggest challenge most French learners, including myself, face is speaking and understanding spoken French. This channel has so many videos where the man speaks slowly, introduces you to new phrases in French, and has interesting content so you don't get bored. Just listening to him speak will make you more familiar with the spoken language and improve your Listening exams! Also, watch French movies and TV shows on Netflix with captions on, and if you're ready for it off too.

MATH

1. Revision Village

This resources helped me SO SO MUCH! It provides video solutions to DP past papers, really helping you cement concepts and work on questions you don't understand. Do check it out. Really REALLY worth it.

SAT

1. KhanAcademy

If you're old enough to be worrying about the SAT, you know you're screwed. The SAT is something you will need for college applications, and you know you need to get a good score. Khan Academy is a free website you can use for online practice for the SAT. It even has full practice tests you can give to help you realize where you stand. Seriously have a look at it, because this is one of the best places you can prep for your SAT.

2. SAT Details for Pakistan

If you too are a student based in Pakistan, be sure to check out this website. It gives some important information regarding the SAT in Pakistan (including test dates, registration information, etc.).

Anyways, that's all I have for now. Let's all hope we can get through this term in one piece everybody!
